Wealden Food Partnership has been asked by East Sussex County Council to co-ordinate a further round of the Household Support Fund (HSF) grants programme to groups/organisations who are working to address food poverty and/or food insecurity in Wealden.
In previous rounds we have given grants to support some excellent work which is making a real difference to our communities.
Examples include:
- Delivery of cookery training to staff and volunteers focusing on low cost, healthy eating for people on low incomes.
- Development and support for new and existing lunch clubs for older isolated communities.
- Supporting organisations including farms to provide the healthy lunch element for holiday activity clubs for children on free school meals.
- Supporting farms and community groups to provide meal kits for families and older people identified as vulnerable.
We’d like to support as many organisations as we can with these grants. The money could be used to support existing work, or to start something new. We aim to get the grants out by end March 2025.
If you’d like to have an initial chat about your ideas, please email Helen on [email protected] or call on: 07538 314616.
The application form is very simple and will ask you to outline:
- what you’d like to do
- who you envisage supporting, e.g. families, older people
- how much you’d like to apply for
- how you would spend the money
- any other organisations you’d like to collaborate with
Closing date for applications is Friday 21st February, with the panel meeting the following week to consider each application.
